Arabic Language, Years 1 - 4

Congratulations to all the Arabic students who have tried their best this term and adapted themselves to the online setting. They have proven that they are up to the challenge and dealt with it very well. I would like to extend a very big thank you to the parents who have been of great support throughout the year.

We tried to make learning Arabic as fun, engaging and interactive as possible by incorporating hands on activities into the weekly tasks.

This term, year ones learnt about fruits and animals in Arabic. Students recorded videos of themselves eating and naming the fruits they ate in Arabic. What a tasty way to learn! They have also learnt about zoo animals. To reinforce their learning, they got creative and made animal masks.

Year two students also covered zoo animals and were introduced to the ‘My House’ topic, in which they learnt about rooms and furniture.

Year three students have been learning about supermarkets and the common vocabulary used when shopping. They learnt how to identify the different departments of a supermarket, items we can buy from there, as well as which section within a supermarket they can find particular items. They also learnt about the holy cities of Mecca and Medina.

Year four have been learning about family members in Arabic, nationalities, and different transport mediums.

Congratulations to our Arabic students who have completed a very successful term!

Kind Regards,
Mrs Khiar
